Wedding Dates
This past Friday. Jack and I had a meeting with the pastor of St. John Cantius. It is the church where both of my brothers got married and one that my family has gone to numerous times over the years. The meeting went well and we were able to formally request to have our wedding there and submit possible dates that we were considering. We are supposed to hear back from the priest that coordinates weddings there this week to see if any of the dates we submitted are available. Say a little prayer that they will have one available for us! If not, we'll have to go to plan B, but for now, that might be a little tricky since we do not have a plan B yet. :)The Engaged Groom
Mary's best friend gave me a book just after we got engaged called, The Engaged Groom. Although I'm only about half-way through it, it's very informative. It's definitely not a checklist-type book and doesn't include every little detail, but it does give a lot of information on current wedding trends and areas in which a modern-day man can get and stay involved in the wedding planning process. The author does a pretty decent job of looking at topics from both a traditional and non-traditional approach. Hopefully now I won't be clueless when Mary and I get into serious wedding-planning mode! Thanks, Gina!
