Progress Update
Just wanted to post an update on what we have been up to these days. To say the least, we have a lot going on, but who doesn't, right?! We've met with two photographers so far and have another appointment for this Wednesday night. Both were good so far, but not quite right, so hopefully we'll find just the right one soon. We have an appointment set with a DJ and from his emails, he sounds like a good possibility, but we'll see. And I must say, Jack has been a huge help in scheduling most of these appointments! Every bride should be as lucky as me to have someone working with them through the whole process. Also, after much mental debate, I finally decided on bridesmaid dresses and the color. Hooray! Now with the color picked, we can move on to some smaller details that get affected by the color. We have also looked at invitations online and hopefully we'll be narrowing that down soon. I think we also picked our places to register, so we can get moving on that as well. I also spend the day at my parents house last night going over wedding details and we always seem to accomplish a lot then too. Whew - lots accomplished, but lots to still do.
And with all this going on, we are still training and fundraising for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer at the end of the month. Only a few more weeks to go! I am definitely glad to have this expereince, and glad that we will get to do this together, but I will also be relieved when it is over. The only way I can describe it is to say that I feel like a juggler who has one too many balls in the air and am afraid one is going to get dropped very soon.
Cinco de Mayo and Lots To Do Still
I've been informed once again that we haven't been keeping up with our blog, and I didn't even realize how much time had gone by since the last update! So here's where we are...
We FINALLY got our save the dates out! It turned out to be more involved than we originally thought for several reasons. Although we thought we had the guestlist complete, having to send a mailing to people makes it really official, and we were sad that in the end, we just couldn't invite everyone! So once we got the list complete, then we had to track down addresses. Of course we opted to do them ourselves, so we had to finalize the text, print the cards, stuff the envelopes, address the envelopes, stamp the envelopes (wait for the custom stamps to arrive!), etc. Thank goodness for pull and seal envelopes.
We finished all that last night, so today I took them to the post office. Whew, one major task completed!
With that out of the way, we're currently trying to set up appointments with photographers and DJs, as well as working on finding decent transportation for our big day. Mary has also been trying to find her bridesmaids' dresses and I think she's getting close, but we'll have to wait to hear from her :) Next steps for us include tuxedo shopping, registries, invitations, and rehearsal dinner plans.
With all that and the Avon Walk at the end of the month, it should make for an exciting May!
